An increasing amount of business in being conducted online, and this is only going to grow over the next few years.
Google has internet dominance, and what they say goes. They have a history of changing the rules of the game and leaving many companies behind if they were too slow to adapt. Since last year, Google’s been increasing the exposure that they give to videos, and so in five years’ time if your company doesn’t have a video, you run the risk of not being found online, where an incredibly large amount of business will take place.
Not only does Google like online videos, but your own business social media pages will push more traffic and interested potential clients to your site as well. Videos integrate incredibly well with social media as they appeal to the type of customer that uses social media, both in their personal and business lives. There’s also the personal side, if prospective clients can see you in a video, talking about your business, then immediately they can relate to you on a more personal level. Watching a video about a business in akin to being invited into that office, meeting the staff, and learning all about what goes on. Imagine if every customer could come in to your office and see you for the person that you are, rather than just someone who’s part of a business. Video can do that brilliantly, and condense it into a small amount of time, making it convenient for everyone.
However, as with all things, there’s a right way and a wrong way do have an online video:
1. Wrong
Grainy and shaky footage on a mobile phone or similar device, with no sound or lighting equipment and an obviously uncomfortable person speaking robotically about their business.
2. Right
Professional and high quality equipment, from multiple broadcast quality cameras giving different angles and perspectives, to clear microphones and the correct lighting style. Anyone in front of the camera will have been made comfortable and relaxed, and asked questions that they can answer effectively for the camera, rather than spewing the usual spiel that often comes across as forced.
A professional video crew can make you look like a Hollywood star, and have everyone hanging upon every word about your business. Video is the future of advertising, so if you don’t already have one, then the future may just leave you behind…
