In the Spotlight: SuperGene

We’re always proud of the design and marketing that we deliver to our clients.  We’re also often inspired by our clients’ hard work and passion for their businesses.  So we thought it would be nice to turn the spotlight on them in a series of Client Focus blogs. First up, is Tom Bisson from SuperGene.

Tom came to us wanting a new image which reflected his expertise and experience in the field of Sports Performance Coaching.  Tom is no ordinary Sports Performance Coach.  He has a detailed and specialist understanding of physiology and psychology, works with a team of specialists, and provides his clients with unique, personalised assessments.  We worked with Tom to design a new brand, booklet, silver foil business cards, assessment form and website (in progress) which mirrored the professionalism at the core of SuperGene.

We spoke to Tom about SuperGene, his new brand and his future knighthood…

Did you always want to work in sports and fitness?

I always had a huge fascination with sports and fitness, however when I looked in to doing this as my profession, I allowed my brother to talk me out of it, telling me that I would never make more than 30K a year doing it. As time went on I decided that I wanted to do something that I am passionate about and decided then and there that I would do whatever it took and give it my best shot. Also out of sibling rivalry I decided that I would make a minimum of 60K as my first target.

Do you have a favourite sport or event?

My favourite sport is Ice Hockey. As terms of endurance, power, speed and strength it just can’t be beaten. The team spirit and the skill involved is something that is really overlooked whenever people talk about it. As for events, I have the upmost respect for triathletes and Iron men and women. They achieve elite level in three disciplines, and the mental strength and focus is incredible.

Do you have any upcoming projects you want to share with us?

I have a few projects coming up. I am working with Carve productions to see how we can really give our clients something they have never thought possible. Also I am starting to do more and more public speaking events to inspire and encourage people to get active and get involved.

What is your favourite part of your job?

Seeing your clients face when they realise they have just achieved a goal that they never thought possible. When they look in the mirror and see what you saw in them from the start.

What’s your biggest goal for this year?

To have my first performance studio built in Canada.

You told us you want to be knighted… How is that coming along?

Would have to ask the Queen! My Knighthood is something that I want desperately. It is a goal I have had since I was 8 years old and so as long as I continue to make strides in the right direction, I am happy!

What made you decide to rebrand?

Looking at what I had and seeing what I wanted it to be led me to realise that they are two separate things. Accepting the fact that you need to sometimes sacrifice what you are, for what you will become.
